Data Machine Intelligence (DMI) announces the appointment of Achim Krockenberger as Managing Director, effective October 1st, 2025.
Achim (LinkedIn) brings more than two decades of experience from Airbus Defence and Space and the German Air Force. At Airbus, he held leading responsibilities in major European defense programs including Future Combat Air System (FCAS) and Eurodrone, as well as earlier roles in Eurofighter support and account management. Before joining Airbus, he served as an officer in the German Air Force, where he worked as a systems engineer.

This appointment underlines DMI’s ambition to become a central enabler of autonomy in the European aerospace and defense sector.
Achim comments:
“With its open autonomy development platform and incredibly fast onboarding, Data Machine Intelligence has the unique ability to unlock AI for the European aerospace and defense industry and to bring autonomy into operations quickly and effectively. With my industry experience and my military background, I want to help drive this transformation at a crucial moment and shape how autonomy is engineered, deployed and maintained – ensuring that the future of autonomy is made in Europe.”
The appointment comes as DMI prepares for its next stage of growth. Following strong customer demand, the company is expanding its engineering product suite with new embedded components designed to enable not only the development, simulation and validation of autonomy, but also its accelerated deployment into operational environments.
Under Achim’s leadership and with the upcoming product expansion, DMI is entering a decisive growth phase. The company will grow its team in Munich, deepen partnerships across Europe and further strengthen its position as the leading provider for autonomy in European aerospace and defense.
